# Billing

Billing is per organization. Usage in every project of an organization is priced at the list
prices, added up over a monthly billing period, and invoiced to the organization in US dollars.
Invoices are paid by card. You manage billing in the console under
[Billing](https://console.ezghcloud.com/billing).

## Billing periods

A billing period is a calendar month in UTC. The **Overview** page shows:

| Item | What it shows |
| --- | --- |
| Amount due | What you owe on issued invoices |
| Cost so far this month | Charges in the current billing period |
| Estimated bill | The total of the upcoming invoice as it stands, and when it will be issued |

## Payment

Cards are the only payment method. Invoices are charged to the organization's default card.

## Billing details

**Billing** > **Billing details** holds the billing contact (name, email and an optional phone
number) and the billing address. Country is a two-letter code, such as `US`. Changes are printed
on invoices issued after you save them.

## Permissions

Billing is controlled by IAM policies on the organization. `BillingFullAccess` and
`AdministratorAccess` allow every billing action. `ReadOnlyAccess` allows the actions that only
read. The root user can do everything. See [IAM](/iam).

| `billing.balance.get` | View the amount due, the cost so far and the estimated bill |
| `billing.invoices.list` | List invoices |
| `billing.invoices.get` | View invoices, the upcoming invoice, and download invoice PDFs |
| `billing.costs.get` | View the Cost explorer and Usage pages |
| `billing.pricing.get` | View prices |
| `billing.paymentMethods.list` | List cards |
| `billing.paymentMethods.create` | Add cards |
| `billing.paymentMethods.update` | Change the default card |
| `billing.paymentMethods.delete` | Remove cards |
| `billing.preferences.get` | View billing details |
| `billing.preferences.update` | Change billing details |

When you lack an action, the console page names the permission you need.
