# ezgh obs alert-rules delete

{/* Generated by ezgh-cli's internal/tools/clidocs from the ezgh command tree. Don't edit: change the command's help in ezgh-cli and regenerate. */}

```sh
ezgh obs alert-rules delete <rule> [flags]
```

Delete an alert rule, given by ID, slug or name. Its instances go with it; notifications already queued are still sent. It asks first on a terminal; `--yes` confirms otherwise. It's sent with the ETag ezgh just read, so a rule someone saved in between isn't deleted.

Part of [`ezgh obs alert-rules`](/cli/reference/obs-alert-rules).

## Flags

| Flag | Type | Default | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `-y`, `--yes` | boolean |  | don't ask for confirmation |

This command also takes the [global flags](/cli/reference#global-flags).
