# ezgh obs datasets sampling get

{/* Generated by ezgh-cli's internal/tools/clidocs from the ezgh command tree. Don't edit: change the command's help in ezgh-cli and regenerate. */}

```sh
ezgh obs datasets sampling get <dataset>
```

Show a dataset's trace sampling policy: whether it's enabled, how long a trace is buffered before it's decided (the decision wait), its rules in order with what each keeps, and the default for traces no rule matches. A dataset that never had a policy keeps every trace (version 0). -o json prints the policy with its version: save it to a file, edit it, and set it with `ezgh obs datasets sampling set -f`.

Part of [`ezgh obs datasets sampling`](/cli/reference/obs-datasets-sampling).

## Examples

```sh
ezgh obs datasets sampling get production
ezgh obs datasets sampling get production -o json > sampling.json
```

## Flags

This command also takes the [global flags](/cli/reference#global-flags).
