# ezgh queues redrive start

{/* Generated by ezgh-cli's internal/tools/clidocs from the ezgh command tree. Don't edit: change the command's help in ezgh-cli and regenerate. */}

```sh
ezgh queues redrive start <dead-letter-queue> [--to <queue>] [flags]
```

Start a redrive: the dead-letter queue's messages, as of now, move back to the queues they came from, or all to `--to` (a queue of the same type). It runs in the background, at a bounded rate; messages whose source queue is gone, or that are in flight, stay and are counted as skipped. A dead-letter queue runs one redrive at a time (redrive_active). `ezgh queues redrive get` shows its progress.

Part of [`ezgh queues redrive`](/cli/reference/queues-redrive).

## Examples

```sh
ezgh queues redrive start orders-dlq
ezgh queues redrive start orders-dlq --to orders-retry
```

## Flags

| Flag | Type | Default | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `--to` | string | | move every message to this queue instead of its source |

This command also takes the [global flags](/cli/reference#global-flags).
